Gender and Sexual Politics in a Global Context

The course provides an introduction to historical and contemporary meanings of the concept of globalisation, with an emphasis on how it is used in current feminist research. The course examines gender and sexuality politics in a global context, with a focus on issues related to inequality, economics and the division of labour. It applies feminist perspectives to issues related to migration, diaspora and identity formation. The course highlights how gender and sexuality are linked to other systems of power, such as ethnicity, race and nationality.
