In times of disinformation and a widening gap between the people who trust traditional news sources and those who prefer to trust alternative media, public service media have been heralded as strongholds of democracy. This course explores the current status of public service media in Europe and the challenges these public companies are facing. The course will address the policy level and ownership issues, as well as the content of and representation in public service media. The course is directly related to the new Knowledge Centre on Public Service Media (K-pub).
