To make your time as a student as beneficial and enjoyable as possible, it is important that you know your rights and obligations, and what rules and regulations apply to and at the university. It is also important that you know about safety and security at the university.

“Rights and obligations – rules for studying at first and second-cycle level at Södertörn University” is a local set of rules that include decisions about the relationship between students and the university.
The purpose of these rules is that all students at Södertörn University will be treated equally and your rights and obligations as a student are easily understandable.

Discrimination, harassment and victimisation
Södertörn University should be free from discrimination, harassment and victimisation. If you are a student or are applying to Södertörn University, you are protected by the Swedish Discrimination Act, which prohibits discrimination.
Disciplinary Board
The Swedish Higher Education Ordinance has rules about when a university may take disciplinary action against a student. Disciplinary action means either a warning or suspension.
