You apply for your qualification (degree certificate) in Ladok for students, which has the following qualifications:

General qualifications

• Higher Education Diploma
• Degree of Bachelor
• Degree of Master (one year)
• Degree of Doctor (two years)
• Degree of Doctor
• Degree of Licentiate

Teaching qualifications (for students admitted in the autumn semester 2011 or later)

• Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Pre-School Education, 210 credits

Degree of Master of Arts in Primary Education, specialising in:

• Pre-School and School Years 1–3, 240 credits
• School Years 4–6, 240 credits
• Extended School, 180 credits

Degree of Master of Arts/Science in:

• Secondary Education, 240 credits
• Upper Secondary Education, 300 or 330 credits.

Other professional qualifications

• Degree of Bachelor of Science in Social Work, 210 credits
• Master of Science in Healthcare Counselling, 60 credits

Processing times vary depending on the time of year, from one week up to eight weeks in the summer. Applications are dealt with in order. Applying for a degree/diploma certificate is free of charge.

Apply for a digital degree certificate

For degrees awarded from 22 April 2024 onwards, you will receive an email and can then collect your degree certificate from “Student Ladok”. You can collect your certificate at any time and it can be downloaded more than once.

Södertörn University processes your application for a degree digitally in Ladok. Once it is issued, you will be notified automatically by email, and can then collect your certificate from Ladok for students. It will be available for collection for a long time after it was issued, and can be collected multiple times. You can also share your degree digitally with external recipients such as employers. The degree certificate is issued with an e-seal to certify its authenticity.

Before applying:

• Check that courses that must be included in your degree/diploma are registered as completed.
• In general, only completed courses may be included, but there are exceptions.
• Studies abroad may be included provided that the credits have been transferred and reported in Ladok. This must be done before you apply for the degree.

Information for students on programmes

• You must have completed the compulsory elements of a programme for its name to be written on the certificate.

Apply for the degree with Bank-ID or Freja eID+

If you no longer have access to an SH account, you can log in to Student-Ladok with Bank-ID External link, opens in new window. or Freja eID External link, opens in new window.. This gives you a limited version of Student-Ladok where you can apply for your degree digitally, or share the content of a previous degree with a potential employer.
