The Resource room UB 523
The Resource room is for students with a reading impairment. You can study in peace and quiet and the room is equipped with support programs and a scanner.
What's in the room?
The resource room is located at the entrance floor in the library, room UB 523. Here you will find:
- a computer with the talking books program EasyReader, speech synthesis TorTalk, spelling software StavaRex, and screen magnifier ZoomText.
- a scanner that can make accessible documents
- a printer
- a Braille keyboard
You can use the room for group studies or to study alone. The desk is adjustable in height. There is also a reading chair.
Bookings
To book the room, you must be a student at either Södertörn University (SH) or the Swedish Red Cross University and in addition to that an authorised user.
Becoming an authorised user
If you are a student at Södertörn University in need of the resource room, please contact Funka. If you are a student at the Swedish Red Cross University, please contact the Accessible Media service.

Students at Södertörn University: Once an authorised user, students at Södertörn University use the group room booking system External link. to book the Resource room. Select room UB 523 in the booking view.
As an SH student, let yourself in using your key card.
Students at the Swedish Red Cross University: From November 1, 2024, authorised students at the Swedish Red Cross University book the Resource room by contacting the library. Specify that it is specifically the Resource room that you want to book. Here you will find the library's contact information and opening hours.
As a student at the Swedish Red Cross University, you must borrow a temporary access card in the information desk.
