Emma Dahlin is an Associate Professor and researcher at Södertörn University. Her research lies at the intersection of philosophy of science, and science and technology studies (STS). She is particularly interested in how artificial intelligence challenges established understandings of humans and technology.
Dahlin’s research is primarily based on ethnographic studies of the development and use of AI, particularly in medical practice. She has conducted fieldwork in the United States and the United Kingdom and has been a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of California, Santa Cruz. She has also held an International Postdoc Fellowship from the Swedish Research Council at Linköping University and currently leads a research project on AI in medicine, funded by the Swedish Research Council.
