This course introduces you to key concepts and strategies required for reading and producing academic texts. It aims to help you develop your knowledge and skills in areas such as understanding different academic texts and it provides practical support in developing your ability to plan and write academic texts.

Moreover, attention will be paid to increasing your awareness of academic register and writing conventions. The course also aims to help you recognise and use academic grammar whilst developing your knowledge of academic vocabulary at the same time. Giving constructive feedback on peers' coursework and receiving this from peers will also help you to further develop your academic literacy and autonomous writing skills.
