Current research and trends in retailing and digitalization

The main focus of the course is on training students’ ability to independently identify current research issues related to retail with a focus on digitalization. To search and collect data, and analyse scientific texts focused on digitalization in retailing.

The purpose of the course is to develop students’ ability to grasp and understand interaction between, and impact on, digitalization and retail. Further, to independently formulate research questions about the course topic, with deeper knowledge about methods appropriate when analysing retailing, as well as relevant methods for data collection.

A part of the course’s main theme is for students to evaluate, verbally as well as in writing, and to be able to summarize different perspectives on the impact of digitalization on retailing

Course design

Teaching is in the form of lectures and seminars, and all teaching is in English. The course is assessed through active seminar participation and written assignments.
